Relationship Property
Sorting Relationship Property issues does not just include divorce or the end of a relationship. Clients should ensure that their assets are protected before during and of course at the end of a relationship for both their own protection and that of their families.
You may also choose to setup your own Relationship Property Agreement upon entering into a new partnership or marriage, especially if there are children and/or step children involved. This may seem pessimistic, grasping and untrusting at the start of a new relationship but this does need to be considered. It is in fact a sensible decision based on protecting your assets. This type of arrangement is becoming more common place in today’s society and especially important for someone who has deliberately chosen not to marry or enter a civil union. If your relationship is at an end, you should contact your solicitor to work through the necessary steps to try to lessen the stress and anxiety that the ending of a relationship can bring.
